Ashdown's challenge will probably force big media to give more money to Hatch. But Ashdown ought to be able to gain quite a bit from outside the state as well.

Media Outreach

Giving up on the existing media is giving up on the campaign. Press Releases need to be sent on a regular basis on what Senator Hatch is doing, why what he is doing is bad for Utah, and what Pete would do instead if he were in the Senate. Articulate the message, and get it out. The media will listen more and more as the grassroots grows.

Of course, if any media outlet gives Pete negative press, that also needs to be responded to, declaring the disappointment of the campaign that the media outlet decided to put politics ahead of the public interest by ignoring the true needs of the people of Utah.

Just don't give up on them.
